The advertised jackpots across the three games total R13.5 million. The final prize outcome, including whether a jackpot was won and how prizes are allocated, should be confirmed through official results.

How to check the lottery results correctly

Checking lottery results for Saturday, 24 October 2026, is straightforward when you follow a few simple steps.

First, locate your physical ticket or electronic entry confirmation. Check the game name and draw date before comparing the numbers. This helps prevent confusion between Lotto, Lotto Plus 1, Lotto Max 5 and other National Lottery games.

Next, compare every main number on your ticket with the corresponding winning combination. Check the bonus number as well, remembering that the way bonus numbers affect prizes depends on the rules of the particular game.

If you entered more than one draw, check each entry separately. A ticket for Lotto Plus 1 must be checked against the Lotto Plus 1 results rather than the main Lotto combination.

Finally, verify the results on the official National Lottery website at www.nationallottery.co.za. Third-party websites can be useful for quick updates, but official information should be used to confirm the winning numbers and prize details.

Why official verification matters

News websites and other online platforms publish lottery results to help players check their tickets. However, mistakes can occur when numbers are copied, updated or displayed.

Official verification is particularly important before claiming a prize. Players should follow the National Lottery’s instructions for validating tickets, checking prize eligibility and submitting claims.

Do not discard a ticket until you have checked the relevant draw and confirmed the outcome. Keep it secure and follow official guidance if you believe your entry may have won.

Lotto and Lotto Plus jackpots explained

The advertised jackpot amounts for Saturday’s draws were R4.5 million for Lotto, R8 million for Lotto Plus 1 and R1 million for Lotto Max 5.

Lotto jackpot: R4.5 million

The Lotto draw offered an advertised jackpot of R4.5 million. Players selected their numbers and could compare them with the winning combination after the draw.

The advertised jackpot is not a guarantee that one player will receive the entire amount. The final outcome depends on the official draw results and the applicable prize rules.

Lotto Plus 1 jackpot: R8 million

Lotto Plus 1 had the largest advertised jackpot of the three draws, at R8 million. Because the game has a separate number combination, players should check the relevant entry independently.

Players should consult official information for confirmation of the final jackpot outcome and the applicable prize divisions.

Lotto Max 5 jackpot: R1 million

The advertised Lotto Max 5 jackpot was R1 million. Players should confirm their numbers and entry details against the official results before assuming that they have won a prize.

Together, the three advertised jackpots amounted to R13.5 million, making the Saturday draw an important date for players who entered these games.

When do National Lottery ticket sales close?

According to the supplied information, lottery outlets close at 8.30pm on draw days, while the draw takes place at 9pm.

Operating hours and terms may differ between outlets and other participating services. Players should confirm the applicable closing time before visiting a retailer.

Some South African banking applications also offer lottery entries, subject to their terms and conditions. The availability of particular games and entry procedures can vary by service provider.

For official information about draw schedules, game rules and entry requirements, visit www.nationallottery.co.za and consult the “How to Play” section.

How much does it cost to play Lotto in South Africa?

According to the supplied information, a Lotto entry costs R5 per board, including Value-Added Tax (VAT). Lotto Plus costs an additional R2.50 per board.

Players should check the official rules and the terms of their chosen entry channel before purchasing tickets. Prices and arrangements should always be confirmed with the relevant provider.

Lottery participation should be treated as entertainment rather than a dependable way to earn money. Set a budget, avoid spending money needed for essentials and remember that buying more entries does not guarantee a win.

Lotto results and PowerBall searches: Understanding the difference

Some readers use search terms such as lottery powerball result, lottery powerball results, lottery results for powerball, lottery results powerball and result powerball lottery when looking for South African lottery updates.

However, PowerBall is a separate game from Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Max 5. Each game has its own draw, winning numbers and rules.

Players searching for PowerBall results should check the correct PowerBall draw date and the official winning combination. The numbers published in this article relate to the supplied Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Max 5 results for 24 October 2026.

Using the correct game name and draw date is essential when checking tickets, especially when several lottery games are drawn on the same evening.
